Thank you for enrolling your child/children with Bubble Swim School. We will do our very best to ensure that you are happy with your aquatic lessons. Our goal is to provide quality swim lessons in a gentle, and loving learning environment. We strive to build self-esteem and confidence by offering a positive swim experience. If you have any suggestions or comments, please do not hesitate to call us at 368-SWIM. We want to hear from you!
Parents: You are the lifeguard for your family. Never leave your child unattended around any type of water. A child can drown in only 2 inches of water! Constant adult visual supervision is the answer to prevent drowning.
Credentials: Bubble Swim School is a member of the United States Swim School Association and is authorized by the American Red Cross. All of our instructors are qualified, certified, and competent. (WSI, First Aide, CPR, Life Guard Certified, United States Swim School Association Infant/Toddler Certified)
Deck Supervision: Parents are responsible to supervise their children before and after their lessons.
Gift for Life: Swim lessons are more than just learning another activity for your child, they turly are a gift of life...for life.
It is suggested:
*To keep your child in lessons until they master several strokes.
*Take at least two sessions back to back. This actually is just like having 3 or 4 separate sessions during the season. Please try to enroll your child in two sessions back to back for optimal learning to occur.
Parking: Please park only in the paved parking area, the adjacent desert lot or on the south side of the street behind Bubble Swim School (Alpine Place). Please DO NOT park in front of the trash bin or against the side of the building so that others may have difficulty getting out.
White Board: Please read it every day. It will tell you such things as what future lessons are available, what teacher is absent (and who is subbing for them), underwater picture information, lost and found items, etc.
Products for Sale: Drinks, snacks, kick boards, barbells, goggles, swim wear and equipment. are all available next door in BeTheWater. Please speak with our deck supervisor, teacher, or office staff if you need any assistance.
Photographs: An underwater photograph of your child(ren) will be taken during the last week of lesson and emailed to you (make sure we have your correct, and working email address).
Swim Diaper: Children who are not potty trained must wear a swim diaper or plastic pants when they enter the water for their lessons. Parents, please check the diaper to ensure that it is not soiled before your child enters the water.
Make up Lessons and Refunds: Due to our operating expenses and in an effort to maintain a quality program with small class sizes we cannot do makeup's or refunds. If we have any available openings in our schedule due to cancellation we will try to arrange make-up lessons due to illness or family emergency. Children with long term illness may be rescheduled into another session.
Missed Lesson: If you have to miss a lesson, please call the office and let us know. Although every lesson is important, missing an individual lessons will not seriously harm your child’s ability to learn to swim. We strive to be on time for your lesson, we hope that you can do the same.
Parents of a Child under 3 Years Old: We would like one parent to please join us in the water for the last day (2nd Friday) of your private lesson.
Swim Attire: All who enter the pool must wear a swim suit. Please pull long hair away from the face with barrettes or braids. Please do not use bobby pins. Swim diapers are required for children who are not potty trained.
Misbehavior: If your child behaves in a manner that might endanger him/herself or a classmate, your child will be asked to sit out on the edge of the pool.
Parent preparation for lessons:
1. Act excited and positive about your child’s swimming lessons.
2. Do not become angry or forceful toward your child if they do not progress as anticipated. Every child has his or her own pace. It takes a long time to rebuild a child’s confidence if they are taken too far, too fast.
3. Make sure only the skills we are teaching in class are being practiced.
4. Please practice!! Many skills can be practiced out of the water or in a full tub. Practice is just as important for swimming as it would be in learning any skill. If you find that you don’t have the patience for it---it would be far better not to practice at all rather than to be forceful with your child.
5. Do not depend on ‘floaties’, water mattresses etc. Clark County has too many near drowning and deaths from the use of these flotation devices.
Never be forceful with your child in the water. Never force your child underwater--this type of behavior creates resistance from the child, and hampers the physical and emotional benefits of swimming for them. Show respect toward your child.
Pool Owners:
1. If you cannot locate your child, the first place you should look is in the pool. It may save your child’s life.
2. Never allow your young swimmer to jump from the side of the pool without immediately turning around and swimming right back to the wall. We want this to be an automatic response so that your child will do this should they accidentally fall in the pool.
3. Always have everyone wear a swim suit at your home when they swim, and make a big deal about it. Should supervision lapse, maybe your toddler will not enter the swimming pool by themselves because they don’t have their swim suit on.
4. Always have all swimmers enter the pool at the shallow end. If your young child should go in unsupervised, hopefully they would go in at the shallow end where they have a much better chance of survival.
5. Have every member of your household, including grandparents, babysitters, etc. learn CPR.
