My name is Dee and I have always had a passion for swimming. I started my swimming career at the age of nine and continued competing all the way through my second year of college (CVAA- age group, Red Bluff JR. High, Southwest High School and Southwestern Collage.)
I began my teaching and coaching career in 1996 were I held numerous aquatic positions and “found” my “true talent” and “career path.” I have coached all ages and levels for many years (Eastlake age group – swim team)
Red Rock Swim Team, The Wave Swim Team, YMCA Swim Team, High School (Chula Vista high), Masters Swim Team
In 1997, I began teaching swim lessons at a city pool (as a swim instructor) and have continued teaching swim lessons (to all ages) up to present day. I have taught everywhere from YMCA’s, city pools, recreational pools, private pools, and Bubble swim school. I also implemented and oversaw a “learn to swim” program for numerous 24 hour fitness centers in Las Vegas.
Other aquatic venues I have worked at include Lifeguarding for city and county park pools and Pool Manager for other resorts in Las Vegas.
I’ve always enjoyed teaching swim lessons (to all ages) because the end results are always the same. “To see the excitement and share in the accomplishments when individuals realize they have ether learned to swim or have met their personal goals.” (Individuals set for themselves).
Water safety proper technique and water dynamics are important to me and are emphasized through my teaching style.
