Let me start in the beginning: Raised in Portland, Oregon
1959-1982 United States Marine Corps
1972 learned SCUBA diving in Japan
1973 trained as a Lifeguard in order to become a SCUBA Instructor 1973-2004 trained thousands in the sport of SCUBA Diving, Lifeguarding, Swimming Instructor, CPR/First Aid and more.
1979 USMC Water Safety and Survival Instructor school in Hawaii
1980-1982 ran USMC Reserve center in Las Vegas, last assignment, retired here
1982-1984 worked and managed the SCUBA Training Center on Main St. and Charleston
1984-1988 Regional Vice President for Mass Indemnity & Life Ins Co
1988-1993 owned 2 SCUBA retail stores on Lake Mead & Nellis (Dive West and Dive West II) and W. Sahara/Lindell
1991-2004 taught PE (Aquatics, CPR, at UNLV (six classes), Beginning and Advanced SCUBA,
Beginning and Intermediate Swimming, Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor
1993-1996 Aquatic Director Heinrich YMCA
1964-present, taught all manner of CPR/FIRST AID courses, Wilderness First Aid, Emergency Response, Pet First Aid, Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, Instructor Trainer in SCUBA, CPR/First Aid, Lifeguarding and more
Currently part-time paid instructor for Clark County Parks and Rec, American Red Cross,
YMCA, and Bubble Swim School. Usually get a couple of classes in Pahrump, City of North Las Vegas, and elsewhere.
Managed Desert Shores and Willows community pools for several years in the 90s, part of YMCA duties.
